SDA Church distances itself from partisan political endorsements

The Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to political neutrality, distancing itself from any form of partisan political endorsement.

In an official statement dated January 9, 2026, the Church clarified that it does not endorse, support, or align with any political party or candidate, stressing that its doors remain open to all individuals regardless of political affiliation.

The clarification follows public interpretations of a recent prayer offered for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong during a visit to one of the Church’s events, which some perceived as a political endorsement. The Church explained that the prayer was pastoral in nature and did not represent its official position or political stance.

“The Seventh-day Adventist Church does not participate in partisan politics,” the statement emphasized, adding that political actors and their supporters should refrain from using Church platforms, messages, or worship experiences for political purposes.

The Church reiterated its mission to serve as a spiritual home for all Ghanaians while promoting peace, integrity, and unity across the nation.

The statement was signed by the Communication Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Ghana.
