The Management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has strongly condemned comments attributed to lawyer and media personality, Miss Serwaa Amihere, in which she allegedly described the school as “a breeding ground for homosexuals.”
In a statement dated January 17, 2026, PRESEC described the comment as false, reckless, and deeply offensive, stressing that it amounts to an irresponsible generalisation that unfairly maligns students and undermines the integrity of the institution.
According to management, the statement seeks to attach a stigma to a school with a long-standing legacy of discipline, academic excellence, and moral formation, adding that such characterisation grossly misrepresents the values and standards for which PRESEC is known.
PRESEC emphasised that it is a Presbyterian mission institution founded on firm Christian principles and governed in line with the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the laws of the Republic of Ghana. The school noted that for over eight decades, it has remained committed to character development, discipline, leadership training, and the moral upbringing of young men.
Highlighting its track record, management stated that PRESEC has consistently distinguished itself as one of Ghana’s leading secondary institutions, producing men of character who contribute meaningfully to society across academia, public service, science, business, faith, and civic life. The statement referenced the school’s repeated successes at the National Science and Maths Quiz as evidence of its culture of discipline, teamwork, and intellectual rigour.
The school further warned that statements of such nature are not only inaccurate but harmful, as they expose young students to ridicule, prejudice, and emotional harm while attempting to erode the hard-earned reputation of the institution.
PRESEC expressed gratitude to parents, alumni, students, and the general public for their continued confidence and support, assuring stakeholders that management remains steadfast in upholding the school’s values and protecting the dignity of its students.
Management reiterated that PRESEC will continue to focus on its core mandate of delivering quality education, enforcing discipline, shaping character, and preparing students to become principled leaders and responsible citizens.
