Police in Kade have launched an investigation into the deaths of a young couple following an alleged domestic dispute in the area.
The deceased have been identified as Atta Payin, 22, and his girlfriend Deborah, 21. Both are natives of Akyem Takworase but were residing in Kade at the time of the incident.
According to available information, Deborah had been living in her hometown until Atta Payin brought her to Kade and supported her to learn a trade. The couple were said to have dated for some time, but a misunderstanding later arose, leading Deborah to relocate to Kasoa.
Reports indicate that Deborah later returned to Kade to inform Atta Payin of her decision to end the relationship. She reportedly told him she had found another partner and had come to collect her belongings.
This is said to have resulted in a confrontation after Atta Payin allegedly locked the room and refused to allow her to pack her things. During the altercation, Deborah sustained fatal injuries involving a piece of wood and a knife.
Atta Payin was later found dead in the same room with a rope tied to a ceiling fan, in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.
The police have since conveyed the bodies to the Kade Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy, as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
