Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Yohunu has confirmed the arrest of two additional suspects connected to the high-profile Adabraka gold robbery, following a dawn police operation in Ashaiman.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025 Wassa Regional Police Conference, IGP Yohunu said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Police Service to dismantle the criminal gang behind the daring daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in the Adabraka Market in Accra.

The robbery, which occurred on Saturday, November 2, 2024, involved four heavily armed and masked men who targeted a man driving a red Toyota Corolla near the busy market area.
Witnesses said the suspects fired several gunshots into the air, causing panic among traders and shoppers, before forcefully seizing large sacks believed to contain cash and fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.
During the latest operation, police recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and other exhibits believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
Residents of Adabraka have since called on the Ghana Police Service to maintain a strong security presence in the area to deter future attacks and protect lives and property.
IGP Yohunu assured the public that police investigations are ongoing and that all persons involved in the robbery will be arrested and prosecuted, as the Service continues to strengthen security measures in high-risk areas across the country.
