First-time Loss Claims Are Untrue, Don’t Justify, You Failed- Ken to Bawumia

NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has hit at his rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for attempting to justify his ”abysmal” performance in the 2024 Presidential Elections. According to  the former Assin Central MP, the claims by the camp of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that no NPP Presidential Candidate has won on their first attempt are untrue and that they should not justify the poor performance in the polls.

Ken Agyapong who started his Greater Accra Regional campaign tour ahead of the NPP’s flagbearer elections slated for December 31st, 2026, told delegates at Ada that, ”people are going round making propaganda that, there is no one in this country who has won president for the first time. It is not true. Our own party, Prof. Busia, he won on the first try, Dr. Hilla Liman also won on the first try. If you have failed and disappointed NPP people, just admit and tell them to give you a chance, don’t come and justify your abysmal performance with the excuse that,  no one has won on the first try”

The business man cum politician, is promising to create jobs for the unemployed youth of the party if he is elected flagbearer and subsequently President of Ghana.  He has been touring various part of the country in his bid to secure the nod as flagbearer at the party’s special congress on January 31st, 2026.

Apart from Ada, Mr. Agyapong is expected to engage delegates in Sege and Ningo-Prampram as part of his first day tour of the Greater Accra Region.
