Dr Mashood launches women empowerment project in Bolga Central

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Abongo Mashood, has launched a women empowerment project in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency aimed at supporting small-scale female entrepreneurs.

The initiative, which is currently ongoing, seeks to provide financial assistance to women’s organizers across all polling stations within the constituency. Beneficiaries of the programme are largely self-employed women engaged in trades such as basket weaving and smock production.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Mashood explained that the project is designed to strengthen the economic capacity of women at the grassroots level while boosting their businesses. He expressed confidence that the financial support, though modest, would go a long way in motivating the women to expand their ventures and improve their livelihoods.

He further encouraged the beneficiaries to remain hardworking and committed to the party’s vision, urging them to help secure more votes for the NPP in the 2028 general elections. According to him, such efforts will contribute to making Mahamudu Bawumia the next President of Ghana.

In a related development, Dr Mashood also donated a digital television set to the NPP youth in the constituency to support their activities and engagement.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the party’s leadership and stakeholders to empower grassroots supporters and strengthen political mobilization ahead of future elections.
