Channel 247’s Awuraabena Boateng headlines GGEM school outreach

Broadcast journalist with Channel 247, Awuraabena Boateng, is set to lead the 2026 GGEM School Tour, an initiative aimed at inspiring discipline and leadership among young students in the Volta Region.

Organised by the Genius Girls Empowering Movement (GGEM) in partnership with the All-Africa Students Union(AASU), the outreach will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026, under the theme “Discipline today, leaders tomorrow.” The programme is expected to engage students from Abutia Agove E.P/D.A Basic School, Abutia Kloe E.P JHS, and Abutia Teti E.P Junior High School.

Awuraabena Boateng, founder of GGEM, will host the event and lead a team of notable speakers and mentors drawn from various professional backgrounds. The initiative seeks to equip students particularly young girls with practical knowledge on personal development, mental health, leadership, and career growth.

Among the speakers billed for the tour are public health advocate Ms. Patsy Adams Ago, mental health therapist and actress Sonia Ibrahim, and brand strategist Mariam Majeed. They will be joined by education and development expert Dr. Naziazi Ibrahim, fitness coach Coach APK, and other resource persons committed to youth empowerment.

The event will also feature Queen Etornam, Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2025, alongside local government representatives, including Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah and Hon. Francis Profer Dusey, who are expected to lend their support to the initiative.

Organisers say the GGEM School Tour forms part of a broader effort to nurture confidence, discipline, and leadership qualities among young people, especially in underserved communities. Through mentorship and direct engagement, the programme aims to shape a new generation of responsible and visionary leaders.

The outreach has received backing from several corporate sponsors and media partners, underscoring growing support for initiatives focused on youth development and education in Ghana.
