Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) launched their Pool C campaign in dramatic fashion, coming from a set down to defeat Kampala Capital City (KCC) 3-1 in a gripping encounter.
The match opened with high intensity as both sides battled for early control. KCC, full of energy and confidence, matched NCS point for point in a tense first set. With the score locked at 24-24, the Ugandan side found a decisive edge, delivering a sharp cross-court spike followed by a solid block to claim the set 26-24 and silence the Nigerian supporters.
However, the setback only ignited a response from the “Customs Ladies.” NCS regrouped in the second set, improving their serve and tightening their rotations. Their aggressive approach unsettled KCC’s reception, allowing the Nigerians to take control and level the match with a 25-20 win.
Momentum firmly shifted in the third set as NCS raised their level of play. Dominant at the net and more composed in attack, they outclassed KCC with a commanding 25-16 victory to move ahead.
In the fourth set, NCS maintained their rhythm despite brief resistance from KCC. With the score at 24-19, the Nigerian side sealed the contest in style — a powerful serve forced a weak return, which was finished off with a thunderous spike from the captain to complete the comeback.
The 3-1 victory marks a strong start for Nigeria Customs Service in Pool C, highlighting both their resilience and quality as they aim to make a deep run in the competition.
