Prophet apologises over failed NPP primary prophecy

Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun has issued a public apology after his prophecy concerning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries failed to materialise.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, January 31, 2026, the cleric admitted that his earlier declarations predicting a victory for Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, in the NPP presidential primaries were inaccurate. He said the prophecy, which was shared through a book, videos and media interviews, did not come to pass.

“I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness,” Prophet Nelson-Eshun stated, taking full responsibility for the failed prophecy.

He explained that because he spoke publicly with prophetic authority, many people trusted his words and were affected emotionally, spiritually and politically. He apologised especially to those who made decisions based on what he declared, stressing that he does not blame anyone or shift responsibility.

According to him, the incident has prompted deep reflection and a realignment in accountability and discernment regarding how prophetic revelations are communicated. He reaffirmed his commitment to integrity, growth and truth.

The prophet also apologised to believers in Ghana and around the world who felt disappointed or wounded, and expressed gratitude to those who have corrected him in love and continue to pray for him.
