Bryan Acheampong wins Volta Region by over 1,000 votes

Bryan Acheampong has emerged victorious in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary in the Volta Region, winning by a margin of over 1,000 votes.

Provisional results from the regional collation centre show that Acheampong secured 5,234 votes to place first in the contest. He was followed closely by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who obtained 4,093 votes, while Ken Ohene Agyapong polled 1,982 votes.

The remaining candidates, Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, garnered 125 and 43 votes respectively.

In all, a total of 11,524 votes were cast in the region, with 11,477 recorded as valid votes and 47 rejected ballots.

The results were declared at the Volta Regional Collation Centre after the completion of voting and counting across designated polling centres in the region. Party officials described the process as orderly and transparent, commending delegates for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.

The Volta Region outcome adds to the nationwide results as the NPP concludes its presidential primary to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
