Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a leading flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has credited his performance in the party’s presidential primaries to strong teamwork and collective effort, following the collation of provisional results.
Speaking after the exercise, Dr. Bawumia described the contest as a fierce but rewarding journey, stressing that success in politics is anchored on teamwork. He noted that no candidate succeeds alone, adding that he has been blessed with an excellent team that worked tirelessly throughout the campaign period.
He singled out his national campaign coordinator, Joseph Che Mansabonsu, campaign manager Fredo Pariansa, and the entire campaign team for their dedication and commitment. Dr. Bawumia said the collective contribution of all team members significantly shaped the outcome of the primaries.
The former Vice President also praised Members of Parliament who stood by him during the contest, describing their support as phenomenal. He further expressed appreciation to party executives for organising the election, as well as the Electoral Commission, security agencies, and the media for ensuring a largely smooth process.
Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the role of former NPP flagbearers in building and strengthening the party, noting that he stands on the “broad shoulders” of leaders who have brought the party this far.
Meanwhile, the party is currently awaiting the Electoral Commission to officially announce the winner, as results from some centres are yet to be submitted and collated.
