Ghana Police volleyball teams register for CAVB Zone 3

The Ghana Police Service has officially registered its Male and Female Volleyball Teams for the 2026 CAVB Zone 3 Club Championship, scheduled to take place in Accra from March 1 to 8.

The formal registration was completed on Monday, January 19, 2026, when the Director of Sports of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Bernice Timbilla, handed over duly completed participation and registration forms to the Ghana Volleyball Federation. The documents were received on behalf of the federation by Mr Bernard Anbataayela Mornah.

The submission confirms the readiness and commitment of the Ghana Police Volleyball Teams to compete in the regional championship, which is being hosted under the auspices of the Confédération Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3.

By completing the registration process, the Ghana Police Service has officially signalled its intention to have both teams represent the Service and the Republic of Ghana at the competition. The championship will bring together volleyball clubs from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.

Speaking during the handover, ASP Bernice Timbilla emphasised the importance of sports development within the Police Service, noting that supporting Police sports is an investment in effective policing and national security. She appealed to corporate bodies, partners and other stakeholders to support Police sports initiatives as part of broader national development efforts.

The Ghana Police Male and Female Volleyball Teams are expected to intensify preparations ahead of the championship as they aim for a strong and impactful showing on the regional volleyball stage.
