The Member of Parliament for the Tempane Constituency, Hon. Lydia Akanvariba Lamisi Adakudugu, has reaffirmed her commitment to fulfilling the promises she made to constituents during the election campaign.
Speaking during a tour of communities in the constituency, the MP disclosed that several development projects are currently underway, including the construction of schools, health facilities and water systems to improve living conditions in the district.
She noted that work has already begun on some of the projects, with sod-cutting ceremonies conducted in selected communities. In addition, Hon. Adakudugu said she has donated essential items such as beds and food supplies to support vulnerable residents.
“The NDC will not disappoint the people of Tempane,” she assured, adding that her administration remains focused on translating campaign promises into tangible development.
Hon. Adakudugu, who succeeded former MP Joseph Kpemka, is working closely with party executives and the District Chief Executive to initiate modern infrastructure projects for the constituency. Among the planned interventions are the construction of a library and a computer laboratory to enhance education and digital literacy.
Meanwhile, the youth of Tempane have appealed for urgent development, citing longstanding challenges in the district. According to the Chairman of the Tempane Youth Association, Alhassan Solomon Awini, the district has only one senior high school, which lacks a dining hall to accommodate students.
He further noted that despite a voting population of 55,213, the district still lacks key infrastructure, including a tarred road network, a district hospital and a community centre for public programmes and meetings.
In response, the MP assured the youth that a tarred road would be constructed in the district before the end of her four-year term. The assurance was warmly received by the youth, who expressed optimism that the district will finally experience meaningful development.
