Garu District: NDC Youth Accuse MP Of Interfering In The Appointment Of YEA Boss

Some youth in the Garu District of the Upper East Region are accusing their Member of Parliament, Dr. Thomas Anaba of interfering in the selection of a District Director for the Youth Employment Agency.

At a press conference held earlier this week, the youths of Garu alleged that their Member of Parliament,  Thomas Anaba is working to ensure the appointment of the current district director of the YEA, Tampuri Thomas Wennam for  allegedly not supporting his bid during the race for who becomes NDC Parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections

They accused the MP for allegedly saying he cannot work with individuals who did not support him during the Parliamentary Primaries.

Following these allegations of attempts to revoke his appointment, channel247online.com got in touch with Tampuri Thomas Wennam who had assumed his role as District Director of the YEA.

He disclosed that his appointment letter was given to him on May 5th, 2025 and that he assumed duty on the 20th of May, 2025.

He said, ”what I know is that I was given an appointment letter signed by the Human Resources Manager and another one from the CEO of YEA, Malik Basintale and an assumption of duty letter,  signed by the Regional Director. I go by those documents as I sit in this office. So whatever is happening I am yet to receive an official communication to that, so until then I am the Acting District Director of the YEA”.
