SDD-UBIDS School of Business Bags 4th Position out of 26 At TBSC 2025

The School of Business at Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) secured 4th position out of 26 business schools in Ghana at the 2025 Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC).

Competition Overview
The TBSC is an annual quiz competition organized by Graphic Business in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). It brings together students from tertiary business schools across Ghana to test their practical business knowledge. For its 7th edition (Version 7.0), ICAG and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) served as main partners.

The competition bridges the gap between academic theory and the job market by assessing students’ readiness to apply business principles to real-world challenges. It promotes creative thinking, showcases participants’ skills to Ghana’s business community and beyond, enhances understanding of leadership and corporate governance, and creates internship and job opportunities for top-performing schools. This year’s theme, “Entrepreneurial Edge: Sharpening Skills for a Dynamic Future,” underscored the focus on innovation and adaptability.

Team and Achievements

The SDD-UBIDS team was led by two dedicated coaches, Dr. Samuel Amoako and Dr. Andrew Osei Agyemang, who guided the students to this impressive milestone.
SDD-UBIDS Vice Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Kanchebe Derbile, commended the School of Business for the achievement. He urged the team to aim higher and target the gold position next year.

Dean of the School of Business, Professor John Akpari, highlighted how the success mirrors the school’s academic excellence. He noted that the recent 4th graduation ceremony saw 42 undergraduates earn first-class honors and 10 diploma students achieve distinctions.
