PNFC beat Ejisu Future Stars 2-0 in Accra

Police National Football Club (PNFC) delivered a composed and disciplined performance to secure a 2-0 victory over Ejisu Future Stars in their Matchday 17 fixture of the Access Bank Division One League on Monday, January 26, 2026.

The encounter, played at the Tuba Astro Turf in Accra, kicked off at 3:08 pm and saw PNFC assert control for much of the contest, displaying tactical maturity and growing confidence as the league season progresses.

PNFC broke the deadlock in the 39th minute through Franklin Owusu, whose well-taken goal capped a neatly worked attacking move. The strike gave the Police side a deserved first-half advantage after a period of sustained pressure.

Ejisu Future Stars returned from the break with renewed intent, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. However, PNFC’s defence remained resolute, with the goalkeeper producing key saves to deny the visitors and preserve the lead.

The victory was sealed in the 80th minute when Eric Akonnor found the back of the net with a calm finish, effectively ending Ejisu Future Stars’ resistance and confirming PNFC’s dominance on the day.

The match was played in a calm and orderly atmosphere, with both teams demonstrating professionalism and sportsmanship throughout the encounter.

Speaking after the game, the PNFC coach praised his side’s display, describing the result as a reward for hard work and collective effort. He expressed optimism about maintaining the team’s positive momentum in upcoming fixtures.

The win lifts PNFC further up the league table and strengthens their push in the ongoing campaign. Ejisu Future Stars, meanwhile, will look to regroup quickly as they prepare for their next assignment in what is shaping up to be a highly competitive Division One season.
