A high-powered delegation of Korean investors has arrived in Ghana to explore strategic investment opportunities across key sectors of the economy, in a move expected to strengthen foreign direct investment inflows and deepen Ghana–Korea economic relations.
The delegation is in the country at the invitation of the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, and will undertake a series of high-level engagements, stakeholder meetings, and site visits in selected regions.
The investors are expected to explore opportunities in manufacturing, industrial processing, agribusiness, renewable energy, healthcare, and other value-added sectors with strong growth and export potential. The visit aligns with Ghana’s broader efforts to position itself as a preferred investment destination in West Africa.
Speaking on the significance of the visit, Hon. Dr. Kwainoe described the engagement as a strategic move aimed at attracting sustainable, long-term investments that will create jobs, promote technology transfer, and support industrialisation, particularly in emerging and underdeveloped districts.
According to him, the discussions are focused on translating investor interest into concrete projects that will have direct socio-economic impact, including the establishment of factories, processing plants, farms, energy facilities, and healthcare infrastructure.
During their stay, the Korean investors are expected to hold discussions with government officials, public sector institutions, traditional authorities, and private sector players. They will also tour proposed project sites and existing facilities to assess feasibility and explore potential joint ventures with local partners.
The visit is widely regarded as a vote of confidence in Ghana’s political stability, investor-friendly environment, and access to regional and continental markets under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). It is anticipated that the engagements will lead to concrete investment commitments in the medium to long term.
