It Was Difficult To Find Akufo-Addo’s 10K km Roads- Agbodza

Roads and Highways Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza says the Ten Thousand Kilometers of roads touted to have been constructed by the previous NPP administration cannot be seen. Taking his turn at the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, he disclosed that after going round the country upon assuming office he could not find the roads that were constructed by the previous administration.

”The summary of my visit is that, it is difficult to see the Ten Thousand Kilometers of roads that President Akufo-Addo said he had done. It was difficult to  even see a Thousand Kilometers of roads in good condition. Obviously it is not true that ten Thousand kilometers of roads were done by the previous administration”, he revealed.

The Minister also disclosed that government  is working on rolling out the digital road tolls system to raise more revenue to help fix broken down roads. According to him, there will not be physical structures to ensure that there are no barriers to create traffic congestions at various locations in the country.

The Government Accountability Series was introduced to provide a platform for ministries and government agencies to brief the nation on their activities. So far 7 ministers have used the platform to spell out their plans and what they are doing since the government took over on January 7th, 2025.
