The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on January 14, 2026, promoted seventeen police officers, including two senior officers, to their next ranks in recognition of their exemplary service to the Ghana Police Service.
The promotions were awarded in appreciation of the officers’ distinguished conduct, professionalism and dedication to duty, particularly their commitment to operational excellence, discipline and service to the nation.
The gesture, according to the Police Service, forms part of broader efforts to motivate personnel who demonstrate integrity and outstanding performance in the line of duty.
IGP Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to regard the elevation as a call to greater responsibility, leadership and accountability.
They further encouraged all personnel of the Service to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty and service to the public.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a means of boosting morale and strengthening effective policing across the country.
