“I will not let my constituents down” — Agbeve

The Member of Parliament for Agotime Ziope Constituency, Hon. Charles Agbeve, has assured residents of his unwavering commitment to deliver on his development promises, stating that he will not disappoint the people who entrusted him with their mandate.

Speaking during a tour of ongoing projects in the constituency, Hon. Agbeve said significant efforts are underway to transform Agotime Ziope through infrastructure and social interventions. He emphasised that the confidence reposed in him by constituents remains a driving force behind his work.

According to the MP, several development projects are currently at various stages of completion, including the construction of schools, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, roads, and nurses’ bungalows. He noted that some of these projects will soon be commissioned.

Hon. Agbeve, who toured the sites alongside the District Chief Executive, urged residents to continue supporting his efforts, as well as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under President John Dramani Mahama. He commended the President for allocating resources from the District Assemblies Common Fund to support development across districts.

Beyond infrastructure, the MP highlighted interventions in education and youth empowerment. He disclosed that scholarships have been secured for brilliant but needy students at both senior high and tertiary levels, while financial support has also been extended to vulnerable residents.

On employment, Hon. Agbeve said a number of young people have been engaged through various initiatives, including the National Apprenticeship Programme and programmes under the National Youth Authority, such as community policing and service assistance.

Some chiefs, elders, and residents who spoke to Channel 247 News expressed appreciation for the MP’s efforts, noting that many communities in the constituency are already benefiting from ongoing projects. They described the pace of development as encouraging.

They further highlighted the importance of the new CHPS compounds, saying the facilities will improve access to healthcare, particularly for pregnant women who often travel long distances sometimes at night to seek medical attention.

The residents commended the government for its support and pledged their continued backing for Hon. Agbeve, expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to the constituency’s development.
