Reginald Boateng Acheisu, Deputy Director of Campaigns and Advocacy for the NDC Youth Wing, has praised President John Mahama and his ministers for what he described as a strong performance since assuming office, saying the government is demonstrating a clear shift from rhetoric to tangible delivery.
Speaking in an interview on Breakfast 247 on Channel 247 with host Masopeh Jeremiah, Acheisu said his overall assessment of the President and the NDC administration was highly positive, rating the government nine out of ten.
According to him, the NDC has distinguished itself by backing its campaign promises with measurable results, pointing to achievements recorded within the first 90 days, 120 days and up to one year in office. He said these milestones show a government that is serious about governance and national development.
Acheisu noted that for the first time in a long while, Ghanaians are witnessing “trademarks and footprints” of governance, adding that many of the initiatives rolled out by the administration are already yielding results across key sectors.
However, he admitted that concerns remain, particularly among young people, who continue to call for more employment opportunities. While acknowledging that the NDC has created jobs, Acheisu said more effort is required to meet the expectations of the youth.
He also called for a stronger and more aggressive fight against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, stressing that although the government has taken steps in the right direction, intensified action is still needed.
Despite these challenges, Acheisu maintained that the NDC has succeeded in restoring hope among young people and reinvigorating confidence in governance, which, he said, justifies his high rating of the government’s performance.
