Former Member of Parliament for Binduri and Deputy Minister for Local Government, Abdulai Abanga, has urged delegates participating in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries in the Binduri Constituency to focus on leadership choice rather than conflict.
Speaking to Channat the voting centre, Mr. Abanga emphasized that the exercise is a democratic process aimed at selecting a leader to steer the party forward, not an avenue for tension or division. He appealed for calm, unity, and responsible conduct throughout the voting period.
According to officials at the polling centre, a total of 501 delegates are expected to cast their ballots in the constituency. As of the morning hours, 200 delegates had already voted, with the process ongoing and more delegates expected to turn up as the day progresses.
Mr. Abanga encouraged all eligible delegates to fully participate in the process, stressing that peaceful engagement and active involvement are essential to strengthening internal party democracy. He reiterated that the outcome of the primaries should reflect the collective will of party members expressed through a transparent and orderly process.
