The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District (AEED), Hon. Andrews Kojo Duodu, has announced that the district will soon commission several District Assembly Common Fund projects that are nearing completion across various communities.
According to the DCE, the projects, currently averaging about 90 per cent completion include CHPS compounds, mechanised boreholes, classroom blocks, teachers’ bungalows and nurses’ bungalows, all aimed at improving access to healthcare, education and potable water in the district.
Hon. Duodu made the assurance during a site inspection tour of some ongoing projects, where he stated his determination to make AEED the first district in the Central Region, and possibly Ghana, to commission and hand over completed Common Fund projects within the stipulated period.
“As DCE, I will ensure that most communities receive their fair share of the District Assembly Common Fund. These projects are people-centred and we are committed to completing them without delays,” he said.
Key beneficiary communities include Denkyendua, where a CHPS compound with a nurses’ bungalow is about 90 per cent complete, and Breman Essiam, which is set to receive a three-unit JHS classroom block nearing 95 per cent completion. Other ongoing projects include CHPS compounds at Ajumako Hasowodze, six-unit classroom blocks at Ajumako and Essaman, as well as mechanised boreholes across the district.
The DCE expressed optimism that all projects would be completed and handed over to beneficiary communities in the coming months, assuring residents that no major hitches were anticipated.
Hon. Duodu further promised massive development under his administration, urging residents to continue to trust him, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, and President John Dramani Mahama to deliver on their development agenda.
“Very soon, Ajumako Enyan Essiam will rival London, with major roads and inner streets under construction,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to transforming the district’s infrastructure landscape.
