Hosts Al Ahly Women’s Volleyball Club continued their dominant campaign at the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, brushing aside Cameroon’s Mayo Kani Evolution (MKE) in straight sets on Day 4 to preserve their unbeaten record.
Backed by a lively home crowd at the Ahly Hall, the Egyptian side delivered a composed and clinical performance, sealing a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-18, 25-11) in a crucial Pool A encounter.
MKE showed early intent in the opening set, using physical play at the net to unsettle the hosts. The Cameroonian side kept pace through much of the set, but Al Ahly’s experience proved decisive. A late surge, anchored by disciplined serving and solid defensive organization, carried the hosts to a 25-21 win.
From the second set onwards, Al Ahly tightened their grip on the match. Their aggressive service disrupted MKE’s reception, allowing the Egyptians to control rallies and dominate at the net. The hosts pulled away midway through the set before closing it out comfortably at 25-18.
The third set was one-sided, with Al Ahly asserting complete control. Capitalizing on MKE’s struggles in reception and transition, the hosts raced into a commanding lead and never looked back, wrapping up the set 25-11 to complete the sweep.
The result extends Al Ahly’s perfect run in Pool A and reinforces their status as strong contenders for the title, while MKE will need to regroup quickly to keep their qualification hopes alive.
