Day 4 of the Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship delivered a series of emphatic results, with all seven matches at Ahly Hall ending in straight sets as host teams and East African sides asserted their dominance.
Egypt’s AHL thrilled the home crowd with a commanding 3-0 victory over Cameroon’s MKE in Pool A, winning 25-21, 25-18, 25-11. After a competitive opening set, the hosts took full control, tightening their block and exploiting gaps in their opponents’ defence to seal the match with the widest margin recorded on the day.
East African teams continued their strong showing with convincing performances. Ethiopia’s NAL brushed aside Ivory Coast’s OMD 25-14, 25-17, 25-8 in a one-sided encounter, while Kenya’s representatives maintained a perfect run. DCI proved too strong for DRC’s VLA, winning 25-13, 25-19, 25-15, as KCB cruised past Seychelles’ ARS with a 25-9, 25-14, 25-17 triumph.
In Pool B, Senegal’s SOC registered one of the more competitive wins of the day, overcoming DRC’s VCL 25-20, 25-19, 26-24, with the final set providing brief resistance. Ghana’s KSC also impressed, dispatching Burundi’s GLC 25-15, 25-11, 25-15 in a composed and disciplined performance.
Tunisia’s CFC completed the day’s clean sweep results in Pool C, overpowering Nigeria’s NCS 25-8, 25-14, 25-17 to underline their credentials as strong contenders.
With every fixture ending 3-0, the pool standings have taken clearer shape. The dominant wins highlight the gap in quality emerging among the teams, as those at the top combined aggressive serving with effective net play to stay unbeaten.
As the competition moves closer to the knockout stage, teams that faltered on Day 4 now face increasing pressure to secure crucial wins and keep their qualification hopes alive.
