One dead, six injured in Gomoa Fetteh accident

A 23-year-old man has been confirmed dead, while six others are in critical condition following a series of accidents on Easter Monday evening along the road leading to Gomoa Fetteh Beach in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The deceased, who was riding a motorcycle, reportedly collided with a Nissan Urvan commercial vehicle, popularly known as a trotro, with registration number GN 4754-19. The incident occurred in front of the Hope Village Hospital.

According to the driver of the trotro, Seth Kpeye, he was returning from Gomoa Fetteh Beach when a motorcycle carrying two persons suddenly lost control and crashed into his vehicle.

The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate death of one of the riders, while six passengers onboard the trotro sustained critical injuries.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that additional accidents occurred at different points along the same stretch of road, involving individuals heading towards the beach for Easter festivities.

Police personnel arrived promptly at the various scenes to restore order and facilitate the evacuation of victims.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at a nearby mortuary for autopsy and preservation, while the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Hope Village Hospital.

The case has been reported to the Gomoa Fetteh Police Station for further investigation.
