President Mahama urges unity and compassion during Ramadan

President John Dramani Mahama has called on Muslims and all Ghanaians to embrace unity, compassion and spiritual renewal as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

In a Ramadan message issued on February 19, 2026, the President extended warm greetings to the Muslim community, expressing hope that the sacred period would strengthen faith and promote peace across the country.

“Ramadan is truly a special time; a month of reflection, renewal, and coming together as one community,” he said, urging Muslims to use the period to purify their hearts and deepen their devotion.

President Mahama prayed for good health, peace of mind and abundant mercies for all observing the fast. He also encouraged Muslims to demonstrate generosity and kindness, especially towards the less privileged.

He noted that the true essence of Ramadan goes beyond abstaining from food and drink, stressing the importance of discipline, compassion and service to humanity.

The President further urged Ghanaians to use the holy month to strengthen the bonds of unity, love and peace within their communities and across the nation.

He concluded by wishing Muslims a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan and prayed that their worship and good deeds would be accepted.

“Ramadan Mubarak. May Allah accept your worship,” the President said.
