The Russia Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mashood Abongo Ajene, has donated food items to party grassroots members in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency ahead of the Ramadan fast.
The items, which included bags of sugar, milk and Lipton, were distributed to eight bases within the constituency, many of whose members are delegates of the party.
Presenting the items, Dr. Abongo Ajene described the gesture as a personal donation aimed at supporting Muslim faithful as they prepare for the holy month of fasting and prayer.
“It is that time of the year again when our Muslim brothers and sisters observe Ramadan. I have made this personal donation to the eight bases in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency to support them during this sacred period,” he said.
According to him, the gesture also reflects the party’s continued commitment to its grassroots supporters, irrespective of whether it is in government or in opposition.
He urged members of the party to remain united and focused, stressing that the strength of the NPP lies in its grassroots structures.
“The grassroots are the root of the party. We must stay united, work together and continue to build our base. With unity and hard work, victory in 2028 is possible,” he added.
Dr. Abongo Ajene further called on Muslim faithful to pray for unity within the party and for the peace and progress of Ghana during the Ramadan period.
He expressed hope that the fasting and prayers would bring spiritual renewal, good health and national cohesion, and wished all Muslims a peaceful and successful Ramadan.
