The Bawumia Campaign has strongly rejected what it describes as baseless and unwarranted personal attacks by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong against Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a statement dated January 20, 2026, the campaign expressed concern over a recent video message in which Hon. Agyapong allegedly accused Dr. Bawumia of making remarks about the health status of the late Mr. Albert Adu Boahen and suggesting a decision not to participate in the 1996 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
The campaign clarified that Dr. Bawumia has never made such statements and described the accusations as false, uninformed, and misleading. It further challenged Hon. Agyapong to produce video or audio evidence to support his claims if he stands by them.
Additionally, the campaign condemned what it termed unfair branding of Dr. Bawumia as unfit for leadership, noting that such wrongful attributions could mislead the public and inflame tensions within the party.
The statement urged Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to render an apology to Dr. Bawumia and called for restraint, truthfulness, and decorum in the ongoing NPP presidential primaries, emphasizing that accuracy and responsible language must guide political discourse.
