Police arrest three more suspects in Adabraka robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the high-profile daylight armed robbery at a gold jewellery shop in Adabraka, Accra, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to seven.

The suspects;  Fatao Mohammed, also known as Motorway; Nashiru Abubakari, known as Soldier; and Sadick Abubakar Satire, nicknamed 50 Cent were arrested on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Ashaiman following months of sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations. They are believed to be the main leaders of the robbery syndicate.

The robbery occurred on 2 November 2024, when armed men raided the jewellery shop in broad daylight and made off with proceeds estimated at GH¢7.5 million.

As part of ongoing investigations, police recently recovered a Toyota Highlander vehicle believed to have been used in the heist. The vehicle was seized at Ashaiman Lebanon on 15 January 2026, and its owner is assisting with enquiries.

In recognition of operational efforts linked to the case, the Inspector-General of Police promoted thirty-five officers for their role in arrests connected with the Adabraka gold robbery.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to tracking down remaining accomplices and ensuring all individuals involved are brought to justice.
