Pomadze poultry farm rollout boosts Nkokonkitinkiti agenda – Veep

Government support for the establishment of a multi-purpose poultry farm at Pomadze in the Gomoa Central District has been realized, marking a major boost to Ghana’s Nkokonkitinkiti initiative.

The project, which will accommodate up to 100,000 birds, will feature modern feeding systems, an on-site feed mill, and environmentally responsible waste management facilities aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability in poultry production.

According to the Vice President, the rollout of the Pomadze Poultry Farm aligns with government’s Feed Ghana and Nkokonkitinkiti programmes, which seek to expand domestic poultry production, create employment opportunities, and reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported poultry products.

Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang made these remarks while addressing the 93rd Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Mission held in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region.

Speaking at the event, she said government’s commitment to the project has been fulfilled through partnership with the Ahmadiyya Mission.

“His Excellency the President assured the community of government support for establishing a multi-purpose poultry farm in Pomadze, and I am pleased to confirm that this assurance is now being realized,” she said.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang added that the initiative is designed to significantly strengthen domestic poultry production and reduce imports.

“This project aligns directly with our Feed Ghana and Nkokonkitinkiti initiatives, and will help reduce Ghana’s reliance on imported poultry by 2028,” she noted.
