C/R: 3 Killed in Chieftaincy Dispute at Agona Abodom

Three people have been killed while 10 others are seriously injured after persons suspected to be  Land Guards clashed with  residents of the Agona Abodom Community in  the Central Region following  a chieftaincy dispute in the area.

Two vehicles and other properties were destroyed as well as  tables and chairs in the  chief palace in the chieftaincy dispute which has been brewing for the past 45 years. Channel247online.com’s reporter in the area reports that, the chiefs and people of Agona Abodom were celebrating their Akwanbo Festival when an opposing claimant to the stool allegedly mobilized handguards to create confusion, which degenerated into mayhem.

An eyewitness, Kwame Arhin who spoke to us revealed that three persons were killed in the clashes.

Residents say they are living in fear and have appealed to the security services to come to their aide.
