Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives have been instructed to comply with constitutional requirements by declaring their assets by 15th July 2025. Those who fail to adhere to the instructions will face sanctions.
“I wish to remind you that you are among the office holders required to declare your assets, and so I expect that by July 15, all of you will have declared your assets,” he said.
Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution makes it imperative for each public officer appointed into office to declare their assets before and after holding such office.
According to the President since assuming office in January 2025, he has noted that asset declaration plays a critical role in combating corruption and fostering confidence in public officials at all levels of governance.
He cautioned that defaulters will face the necessary sanctions, as had been done to some appointees.
