Efia Odo: Jesus Christ, not plastic surgery, is the answer to true fulfillment

Ghanaian actress and socialite, Efia Odo has weighed in on the debate over women’s body enhancements, arguing that such procedures won’t address underlying insecurities.

Instead, she advocates for spiritual fulfillment, encouraging women to seek validation through Jesus Christ rather than external means since that doesn’t erode insecurities.

In a post published on X on April 14, 2025, Efia Odo advises women to find self-worth through faith in Christ, rather than relying on external fixes like plastic surgery or body enhancements.

She wrote: “Plastic surgery doesn’t fix insecurities. You must be self-validated within. Nothing outside of you can save you apart from being in Christ, because that’s your true self. Christ is not a religion; it’s one’s true self.”

In November last year, Efia announced that she had turned a new page in her life, declaring herself born again and devoted to a Christ-centred path.

Speaking candidly on the Konnected Minds Podcast, Efia shared insights into her spiritual transformation, emphasising her commitment to living intentionally in alignment with her newfound faith.

Efia explained that her previous search for love and fulfilment in worldly desires had replaced with a deeper connection to Christ and her latest offering on plastic surgery seems to come from her experience with her new found faith.

However, Efia Odo appears not to be alone in her views about body enhancements. In a recent interview with Joy Prime, actress Yvonne Nelson eexpressed her disapproval of cosmetic surgeries, stating that women who undergo such procedures lacked self- confidence.

“I feel that it is a mental thing. It is a lack of confidence,” she said in the interview.
