GFA President Kurt Okraku elected as sixth Ghanaian to CAF Executive Committee

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), ,Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has been elected to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee (EXCO) , becoming the sixth Ghanaian to be on this exclusive board joining the ranks of Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi who served in similar positions in the past.

With this appointment, his tenure will span four years from 2025 to 2029.

Elected unopposed, Okraku now joins the 24-member committee of Africa’s football governing body, a milestone that underscores his growing influence in the sport.

His appointment to the CAF Executive Committee is a recognition of his leadership at the GFA, where he has spearheaded efforts to revitalize Ghanaian football since assuming office in 2019.

Under his tenure, he has championed transparency, grassroots development, women’s football, and youth programs; initiatives that have earned him recognition across the African football community.

With Ghana’s rich footballing history, his presence on the CAF EXCO is expected to strengthen the country’s voice in continental football affairs while contributing to the broader development of the sport across Africa.
