Network of Women in Broadcasting announces inaugural Executive Council

The Network of Women in Broadcasting (NOWIB) has announced its first-ever Executive Council, elected to serve a three-year term from 2025 to 2028.

NOWIB, which comprises approximately 80 media professionals from various platforms across Ghana, is dedicated to advancing the role of women in the broadcasting industry.

The organisation operates under the patronage of broadcasters Nana Yaa Konadu and Nana Yaa Brefo, bringing together experienced professionals committed to mentoring and empowering women in the field.

A vision for empowerment

Speaking on the significance of the new leadership, Maame Biamah Akwafo, President of NOWIB, highlighted the council’s mission.

“We are excited to establish our Executive Council, which will help us achieve our goal of creating a supportive ecosystem for women in broadcasting. We aim to foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and growth, ultimately paving the way for future generations of women in media.”

NOWIB is dedicated to professional development, offering mentorship programmes, networking opportunities, and initiatives aimed at supporting young women entering the media industry.

The organisation is set to hold its official inauguration in March 2025, marking the beginning of a new era for women in broadcasting in Ghana.
