2025 BECE: Gunshots Ring Through Binduri Hours Before Exam

Fear has reportedly gripped candidates sitting the Basic Education Certificate Examination in Binduri following sporadic gunshots in the area hours before the exercise which begins today, 11th June, 2025,

“There has been gunshots here in Binduri which lasted throughout the night, so people are worried about the safety of the candidates”, channel247online.com’s Kassim Iddrisu revealed.

The Binduri area has become a hot spot since February after gunmen attacked and killed some policemen in the area/ Several other attacks have led to the death of some other residents of the town which seem to have become an extension of the Bawku conflict.

Despite attempts by channel247online.com to get information on security measures to ensure safety of the candidates during the examination period, authorities have been tight lipped with rumours making the round that the exam materials will the kept at Zebilla until the morning of the examination before being sent to Bawku and Binduri. Authorities in the two areas have since debunked the rumours.
