Chief of Staff leads 2nd Kwahu Business Forum – Event to boost entrepreneurship

President John Dramani Mahama has tasked the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to spearhead the second edition of the Kwahu Business Forum, a strategic initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurial growth and strengthening businesses across the country.

The forum, to start from Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Kwahu Mpraeso in the Eastern Region, forms part of the government’s broader agenda to stimulate private sector development and reduce unemployment through enterprise-driven solutions.

Speaking to journalists at the Presidency yesterday, Mr Debrah emphasised that the forum would serve as a critical platform for stakeholders to collaborate on policies and strategies to propel the economy forward.

“This initiative will gradually transition into a national forum to ensure that businesses and the private sector thrive,” he stated.

He added that “the President’s vision is to create a legacy of business growth where the private sector becomes a key driver in job creation and economic expansion”.

The Chief of Staff revealed that the government anticipated significant economic benefits from the forum, including increased revenue generation and investment opportunities.

He added that the event would be an annual affair, with plans to expand its scope in subsequent editions to cover more sectors and regions.

“We are committed to making this a sustainable platform where entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers can converge to shape Ghana’s economic future,” Mr Debrah said.

The three-day event will feature panel discussions on entrepreneurship and business innovation; networking sessions for startups and investors; policy dialogues between government officials and industry leaders; and exhibitions showcasing local and international business opportunities.

Stakeholders from various sectors, including finance, agriculture, technology and manufacturing, are expected to participate in the forum.

The Chief of Staff encouraged Ghanaian entrepreneurs, business leaders, and the youth to actively engage in the forum, underscoring its potential to unlock new economic opportunities.

“This is not just a Kwahu initiative; it is a national movement towards economic resilience and prosperity,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the Kwahu Business Forum would mark another milestone in the country’s journey towards sustainable development and private sector-led growth.
