The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nkatia, has commended the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam and Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, for what he described as exceptional leadership and dedication to public service.
Speaking during a thank-you tour of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia lauded Dr. Forson’s performance over the years, stating that he has distinguished himself in every political role he has occupied.
“He has been in Parliament for nearly 20 years, and he can never sabotage the good work he is doing,” the NDC Chairman said, addressing chiefs, constituency and branch executives, and party supporters.
Dr. Forson, who previously served as Deputy Finance Minister and Minority Leader, is currently Ghana’s Finance Minister. According to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, his track record demonstrates consistency, competence and commitment to national development.
He further described the minister as a results-oriented leader, insisting that even greater achievements lie ahead. “He is indeed forcing results,” he declared.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia also expressed concern about what he termed persistent opposition from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), suggesting that attempts to undermine the Finance Minister would not succeed.
“The NPP should do all evil against Ato Forson, but it won’t go anywhere because of the kind of clean heart he has,” he said, urging party faithful, chiefs and the clergy to pray for the minister.
He maintained that Dr. Forson remains a key figure in both the constituency and the country, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver on expectations.
Adding his voice, the Paramount Chief of the Ajumako Traditional Area, Okukudurofo Kwamena Hammah Ababio, thanked the NDC for Dr. Forson’s appointment as Finance Minister. He expressed optimism that the minister would continue to serve Ghanaians diligently and uphold the trust placed in him.
The chief also commended the NDC administration under President John Dramani Mahama, urging the government to fulfil its campaign promises while expressing confidence in its capacity to deliver meaningful development.
