The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of the sector, describing open engagement with the public as central to good governance and national development.
Delivering his first official address at the Government Accountability Series, the Minister said the administration remains focused on providing clear, verifiable updates on policies, programmes and projects under the Works, Housing and Water Resources Ministry.
He noted that the ministry’s operations are aligned with the government’s resetting agenda, which prioritises equity, sustainability and long-term transformation.
According to him, recent engagements with stakeholders, including the media, are intended to strengthen public trust and ensure citizens are well informed about the state of national infrastructure and service delivery.
Hon. Adjei highlighted progress made across the ministry’s three core areas; works, housing and water resources despite existing financial and environmental challenges. He stressed that government institutions must remain accountable to the people by adhering to planning regulations, improving coordination and ensuring efficient use of public resources.
The Minister also called on state and non-state actors to support responsible development, particularly in sanitation, land use and environmental protection, noting that collective responsibility is critical to building a resilient and inclusive society.
He assured Ghanaians that the ministry will continue to provide regular updates on sector performance and maintain open channels of communication as part of efforts to deepen transparency and accountability in governance.
