Ghana and Morocco are strengthening their diplomatic and developmental relations following the implementation of a visa waiver agreement between the two countries.
According to Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the agreement signed two months ago has already facilitated travel for over 1,200 Ghanaians to Morocco. The figure, he noted, was provided by the Moroccan ambassador to Ghana through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The ambassador has formerly informed us at the ministry of foreign affairs about 1,200 Ghanaians have benefited from the visa waiver agreement and have travelled to Morocco in just two months after the agreement” he said .
Mr. Ablakwa highlighted Morocco’s long-standing role as a key trading partner and a vital hub for educational and commercial collaboration. As part of the reciprocal arrangement, Ghana has also granted visa-free entry to Moroccan nationals and expressed its readiness to host more Moroccan students in the country.
In response to the increased travel traffic, the Kingdom of Morocco is making arrangements to boost flight connections between the two countries.
The Foreign Affairs Minister further emphasized that both nations are committed to deepening cooperation across various sectors, with particular focus on education and development.
