Nalerigu: Gunmen Open Fire at Nalerigu Senior High School Students, Two Killed.

Two male students of the Nalerigu Senior School in the North East Region have been killed following an attack on them by gunmen on Saturday 26th July, 2025 evening.

The students whose names have only been given as Lukman and Gideon were at their dormitory when gunmen invaded the school and opened fire sporadically leading to their death.

An uncle of one of the victims, Dasmani Fuseini who doubles as the assembly member for the Denugu electoral area, a community where the victims are from, confirmed the incident and reported that the bodies are still with the police and the family is making efforts to retrieve them.

It is not clear what triggered the horrific incident, however, sources say it is linked with the Bawku Conflict.

In a related development, another student was also killed at the Bawku Senior High School by gunmen on Saturday night.
