Two west African real estate giants are partnering to build what arguably be West Africa’s first Five-Star Beach-front resort at Kokrobite in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The project when completed will not only be a luxurious facility but will also be home to a school that will train Ghanaians in the hospitality sector.
According to the two partnering companies, Lifestyle Asset Hub and Tuger Real Estate Group, the project which is expected to be completed by December, 2028 is a testament of the need for African brands to partner more to create employment opportunities for their people.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the ground-breaking ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 12th July, 2025, Chief Executive Officer of Lifestyle Asset Hub, Dr. Abioye Oke disclosed that even before the construction starts, they will empower about a thousand young people in the catchment area of the project. ”Even before we start construction, we will commission a school that will train young people in the catchment area with employable skills as part of our commitment to empowering the community”, he disclosed.
Dr. Oke further disclosed that about 400 people will be employed during the construction stage which is expected to start as soon as the ground-breaking ceremony is done on Saturday and that they will take into consideration all environmental provisions. ”If you scan through the catchment area of the project, there is no central waste disposal system and so as a team, we are working to ensure we recycle our waste products in compliance with all environmental protection laws in order not to create problems for the community”, he stressed.
”We shall also endeavor to make use of solar and wind energy to power the place. In fact we will make sure the national grid is the least of our supplier of power.” Dr. Oke revealed.
His partner, the Chief Executive of Tuger Real Estate Group, Dr. Samuel Twumasi praised the partnership describing it as the best. According to him, siting the project in Ghana goes to emphasize how the country is rated world wide. ”Siting the project in Ghana tells you how the world sees Ghana. The stability in the country makes it the most ideal place to construct such a project”, he stressed.
Touching on possible land litigation issues regarding the project, Tatse Nii Laryea Akuetteh, the Katamanso Mantse disclosed that every effort has been made by the investors to ensure the right procedures are employed in acquiring the land. He said, ”Tuger for instance does not joke with details so they have followed all processes to ensure the land was acquired properly. So I am sure we will not have problems as the project progresses.
The 12-storey 5-Star Luxury Beach Resort is expected to cost between 30 to 35 Million Dollars and will be constructed by the China Railway Company.
