The National Democratic Congress (NDC) intends adopting a “house-to-house, retail campaign” in this year’s General Elections.
This strategic campaign module which seeks to “touch base with the people“, will be a clear departure from the large rallies that used to be characteristic of the largest opposition party.
National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, disclosed this in an interview with Okay FM‘s Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.
“We want to reach out to the people, house-to-house campaign, retail campaign, that is where the emphasis is going to be. So, what we’re going to do in Tamale is to remind our people that this year, the campaign will be different. We must touch base with the people.
“It is cheaper for party functionaries to reach out to the people in the villages than to bring their people to a collation point to address them,” he said.
The NDC has fixed Saturday, 27th July, 2024 as the day the party is set to launch its Campaign; an event expected to be hosted in the capital city of the Northern region of Ghana, Tamale.
It is in line with this that the opposition party, after carefully observing the trends in elections over the years, believes it is imperative to review the strategies in a build up towards the 2024 general elections in December.
Mr Asiedu Nketia further stated that, the door to door campaign will enhance a personal engagement with the Ghanaian voter.
