Killing of Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru under investigation

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the death of the Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru in the Mampong traditional area.

The lifeless body of Nana Osei Bonsu was found in a pool of blood near his car on the Boanim-Morim stretch on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

According to reports, the deceased chief was on his way to deliver some items when he was stopped by unidentified gunmen, who pulled him out of his vehicle and shot him at close range.

Although the motive behind the killing is unclear, the mobile phone of the deceased chief was reportedly destroyed, but the assailants did not take anything from him.

The Assemblymember for the Dompem Electoral Area, Richard Nketia, who confirmed the incident, appealed for enhanced police patrols on the Boanim-Morim stretch following the incident.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased chief has been deposited at the Mampong Government Hospital for autopsy.
