New IGP announces Police Management Board

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced new appointments within the Ghana Police Service, reassigning senior officers to various directorates and regional commands.

In a statement issued on March 19, 2025, the Public Affairs Directorate of the Police Service said that the changes take immediate effect.

The reconstituted Police Management Board includes:

• COP Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah – Director-General, Research and Planning
• COP Paul Manly Awini – Head of Service Workshop, Accra
• COP Daniel Kwame Afriyie – Director-General, Private Security Operations
• COP Dr Ernest Kwabena Owusu – Director-General, Services
• COP Mohammed Fuseini Suraji – Director-General, National Patrol Department
• COP Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba – Director-General, Technical
• COP Michael Netia Frempong – Director-General, Finance
• COP Asumadu Okyere Darko – Director-General, Public Affairs and Public Safety Bureau
• COP Iddi Lansah Seidu – Director-General, Welfare
• COP Faustina A.K. Andoh-Kwofie – Commandant, Ghana Police Command and Staff College, Winneba

• C/Supt Solomon A. Korli – Executive Secretary to the IGP
• C/Supt Kudjo Aboagye – Chief Staff Officer to the IGP

Mr Yohuno was appointed IGP by President John Dramani Mahama on March 13, 2025, and sworn into office the following day.

He succeeded Dr George Akuffo Dampare, who led the service from October 2021 until his departure.

During his swearing-in at Jubilee House, President Mahama urged Mr Yohuno to strengthen law enforcement efforts and uphold public safety.
