Samuel Kofi Ahiave hands over to Kow Eduakwa Sam as Ag. CEO of Bui Power Authority

The Bui Power Authority (BPA) has officially transitioned leadership, with Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi formally handing over to Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam as Acting Chief Executive Officer.

The ceremony, held at the BPA Head Office in Accra, followed a directive from President John Dramani Mahama.

At the event, Mr Dzamesi presented his handover notes to Ing. Sam, symbolising the official transfer of leadership.

In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the management and staff for their unwavering support during his tenure, which began on September 3, 2021.

He reflected on the challenges and successes of his leadership, emphasising the importance of teamwork and professionalism in driving the Authority forward.

“I am delighted to hand over to Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam, who comes with a wealth of experience from the energy sector. I am confident that he will build on the foundation we have laid and take BPA to even greater heights,” Mr Dzamesi stated.

Welcoming the responsibility, Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam thanked President Mahama and John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, for entrusting him with the role.

He acknowledged the contributions of past CEOs and highlighted his commitment to firm, fair, and proactive leadership to enhance BPA’s operations.

“The power sector is one that requires a high level of stakeholder consciousness, and I am determined to ensure that BPA remains responsive to the needs of all stakeholders,” he stated.

Ing. Sam also emphasised the importance of innovation and youth involvement, urging young professionals within BPA to harness their creativity in driving the Authority forward.

“I see a lot of young talent here, and I encourage you to ignite your innovative spirit. Together, we can position BPA as a leader in the energy sector and a blessing to our nation, Ghana,” he added.

The management and staff of BPA extended their appreciation to Ing. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi for his leadership and officially welcomed Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam as the new Acting CEO of the Authority.
