Governs Kwame Agbodza has announced that all contractors working on ongoing road projects and the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme have been fully paid, with no arrears outstanding.
Speaking during President John Dramani Mahama’s inspection of progress on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway, the Roads Minister said every contractor who had submitted work certificates for payment had been settled.
According to him, the government currently owes no contractor “one cedi,” describing the development as proof of the administration’s commitment to improving Ghana’s road network through sustained investment.
He assured contractors under both existing projects and new Big Push initiatives that payments would continue promptly, adding that the government was making every effort to honour its obligations across the sector.
Governs Kwame Agbodza praised President John Dramani Mahama for prioritising infrastructure, saying Ghana’s road sector could witness the highest level of investment in the country’s history under the current administration.
He said improved roads would boost economic growth, ease transportation challenges and leave the country better positioned for future development.
The Kasoa-Winneba Highway remains one of Ghana’s major road projects aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity in the Central and Greater Accra regions.
