NDC secretly introduced LGBTQ agenda into curriculum – Fordjour

Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of covertly introducing LGBTQ-related content into Ghana’s basic school curriculum.

In a post on X on Tuesday, January 13, the Assin South MP alleged that the government had “mischievously and deliberately smuggled” an LGBTQ agenda into the education system through Teacher Manuals and other Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs).

According to Rev. Fordjour, the materials were printed and distributed nationwide to promote LGBTQ content, a move he said contradicts the NDC’s public posture of opposing such issues.

He called for the immediate recall of all textbooks and manuals found to contain LGBTQ-related content and demanded a comprehensive review of affected teaching materials to “sanitize the curriculum.”

Rev. Fordjour further argued that the alleged development reinforces claims that the government previously suppressed the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, widely referred to as the anti-gay bill.

The MP insisted that urgent action is required to protect Ghana’s cultural and moral values within the education system.
