A dramatic incident unfolded late Sunday evening, when a passenger bus belonging to OA Transport Services, which had been travelling from Accra to Techiman, unexpectedly caught fire near Nsawam, a town along the Accra-Kumasi highway.

The incident left passengers shaken and led to growing frustrations regarding the transport company’s handling of the situation, especially concerning the potential loss of personal belongings.

According to initial reports, the bus, which left Accra around 9 p.m., was carrying numerous passengers on an overnight journey towards Techiman in the Bono East region.

Despite the sudden and terrifying nature of the event, no casualties have been reported, as all passengers successfully evacuated the vehicle.

In the wake of the incident, OA Transport Services made efforts to alleviate the impact of the unexpected disruption by arranging for an alternative vehicle to transport the stranded passengers to their final destination in Techiman.

However, despite these efforts, passengers have expressed increasing frustration over the company’s handling of the aftermath, particularly regarding what they allege to be a lack of communication and support around potential losses sustained in the fire.
